Ring Size Guide

Finding the correct ring size is essential for comfort, security, and everyday wear. This guide will help you determine the right size before placing your order.

Because every North & Line ring is made to order, we strongly recommend confirming your ring size in advance to ensure the best possible fit.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RING SIZE

The most accurate way to determine your ring size is to have your finger measured by a professional jeweller.

If visiting a jeweller isn’t possible, you can also estimate your size at home using a ring you already own, a ring sizing tool, or the string measuring method outlined below.

For the most reliable results, we recommend using a dedicated ring sizer whenever possible.

USING A RING YOU ALREADY OWN

If you already wear a ring on the correct finger, this can be one of the easiest ways to estimate your size.

  1. Place the ring on a ruler.
  2. Measure the inside diameter of the ring in millimetres.
  3. Compare the measurement with a UK ring size chart to determine the closest match.

This method works best when the ring already fits comfortably on the finger where your engagement ring will be worn.

MEASURING YOUR RING SIZE WITH STRING

If you don’t have a ring to measure, you can try the string method.

  1. Wrap a thin piece of string or paper strip around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark the point where the string overlaps.
  3. Lay the string flat and measure the length in millimetres.
  4. Compare this measurement with a UK ring size chart.

When using this method:

  • Make sure the string is snug but not tight
  • Ensure it can slide over your knuckle
  • Measure your finger 2–3 times for accuracy

While helpful as an estimate, the string method is less precise than using a ring sizer or visiting a jeweller.

TIPS FOR ACCURATE SIZING

To achieve the most accurate measurement, keep the following tips in mind:

  • Measure your finger at the end of the day, when fingers are naturally slightly larger
  • Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold, as fingers can shrink temporarily
  • Ensure the ring slides comfortably over the knuckle but does not feel loose
  • If you fall between sizes, the slightly larger size is usually recommended

TYPICAL RING SIZES

Every hand is unique, but the most common UK ring sizes are:

  • Women: UK size J – M
  • Men: UK size R – T

Many women fall between K and L, though sizes can vary depending on finger shape and personal preference.

WHAT IF I CHOOSE THE WRONG SIZE?

We understand that sizing can sometimes be difficult.

Most North & Line rings can be resized within approximately one UK size, depending on the design. Rings with pavé stones or intricate settings may have more limited resizing flexibility.

If you are unsure, we recommend confirming your size before placing your order.
